For those of you who are unaware of what Zipcar does, they are essentially, the premier car-sharing service of today. They've managed to bring more than 250 campuses across the country a plethora of cars for the student body to share amongst themselves for various uses, whether it be to simply get around town or to go on a short trip to see their parents.

Now, we realize that you may be wondering where exactly Ford fits into all of this. As it turns out, the American automaker is now officially Zipcar's largest automotive supplier. Specifically, Ford has managed to supply Zipcar with upwards of 650 vehicles this year alone, and they'll be increasing that number of almost 1,000 models in 2012.

Among the more popular models being shared by college students across the country are the Ford Focus and Ford Escape. But, aside from the topnotch vehicles that Zipcar is allowing those cash-strapped students access to, the company is also offering students a wide range of benefits, thanks to their partnership with Ford. For instance, Zipcar is able to offer ten bucks off the annual fee (regularly $35) to the first 100,000 new members. In addition, they're also offering $1 off of the hourly rate for the first 1,000,000 hours of sharing on a participating Ford model.
