How do we know that the Focus EV is so close to launch? Ford recently launched a new web site for taking pre-orders on the game-changing EV, and the stats alone are driving the masses to it.

More specifically, the Focus EV can reach a full charge in half the time that it takes the competition's LEAF to. In fact, using a 240-volt plug, it can charge up in only three hours! Another big selling point of the American-made EV is that it's priced competitively at just under $40,000. And, in some areas that offer heavy tax breaks for EV purchases, that number can drop drastically.

The specific markets carrying the Ford Focus EV at launch include California and New York. From there, the vehicle will make its way to Georgia, Texas, Massachusetts, Illinois, Colorado, Florida, Arizona, Oregon, North Carolina, Washington, and the District of Columbia. Of course, you don't actually have to live in these states to buy the EV, they're merely the states where it will be for sale.
