Why York Ford Encourages You to Know Where Your Next Used Car Comes From

Buying your next new or used car is no small feat, which is why everyone here at York Ford highly recommends buying only from a reputable source. While cutting out the middleman and simply buying from a third party can seem like a good way to save some money, there's a lot that's being left up to chance. Take for instance, one story that comes to us from Chattanooga, TN, where a young man got more than he bargained for when he bought a vehicle online.
The vehicle in question was a Ford Crown Victoria. Luke Ridings saw the vehicle posted for only $4,000 on Craigslist, a popular internet classifieds site. Upon seeing the vehicle, Ridings could hardly believe it. Everything was going great after buying the car, until one night when Ridings was pulled over by the police. After running the vehicle through his computer, the officer found that Ridings' new set of wheels was actually a decommissioned police cruiser, which was stolen when heading to the crusher.
The vehicle originally belonged to a police department in Georgia, and no one there knows how the vehicle was stolen, or how it wound up on a craigslist ad in Chattanooga either. The bottom line is that Ridings' Crown Victoria was confiscated, and the vehicle's theft is now under investigation. Personally, we think that this whole mess could have been avoided if he'd simply just bought his vehicle from a dealer, like ours at 1481 Broadway, Route 1 South Saugus, MA 01906.
After all, we make sure that every vehicle we acquire is done so in a legal manner. Whether it be the new Ford models that we keep in stock or the used Ford models that we carry amongst our great lineup of used cars.
