Ford might be an American automaker, but they provide quality vehicles around the world. For instance, they've been doing business in the UK for 100 years now, and to celebrate they found a unique way to challenge some of the most fashionable minds in the country.

Wait, fashion? Yes, Ford took to a new initiative known as Ford Fashion in order to celebrate this milestone. More specifically, they asked them to create outfits and accessories for a fashion show from the parts found in a Ford Focus; something that intrigued everyone here at York Ford quite a bit.

Judy Clark is a Alexander McQueen intern, and she's currently heading up Ford Fashion. She used the car parts provided to her to craft some of the most unique and thoughtfully designed items that we've ever seen. Don't dare ask the Ford parts department at 1481 Broadway,   Route 1 South Saugus, MA 01906 to try and replicate it either. Her work is truly one of a kind.

"My reaction when they approached me was one of delight to be a part of such a unique project as it's very different to what I normally do," explains Clark. "I would say that the inspiration for the dress was taken from the Edwardian period and I actually started to design the dress before the car parts arrived."¹

Another fashion designer who took on the challenge is Katherine Hawkins. She took up crafting necklaces, and her attention to detail and originality is unmatched. "When the box of car parts arrived, I didn't really know what to expect," says Hawkins. "But once I got them spread out to see how they look and sit and how I could work with them, the idea came very quickly and I was able to use really cool metals, plastics and rubbery bits!"²
