Most car companies are focusing on more fuel efficient hybrids and electric cars. While Ford is also engineering greener cars, they haven't forgotten about the off road enthusiasts. Ford has unveiled a true off road machine in the F-150 Raptor SuperCrew. It packs a 6.2 liter V-8 engine which produces 411 horsepower and 434 lb.-ft of torque . Ford touts the Raptor as "the most powerful half-ton pickup truck on the market."
The Raptor features Hill Descent Control, electronic locking differential settings and AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control. The truck also gives feedback to the driver about steering wheel angle and vehicle angle. All of the off road information is displayed on an LCD screen for easy driver viewing.
"The productivity screen is a great solution for our off-road customers," said Hameedi. "With one glance, they can tell exactly what settings are enabled on their truck and what the driveline
is doing."
The gas tank is a large 36 gallons, the towing capacity is 8,000 lbs and the suspension has 1ft of travel, making the F-150 Raptor an extremely well equipped truck for any off road environment.
