Ford Increasing Truck Fuel Efficiency

U.S. truck makers have always marketed the MPG ratings on their trucks as near 20, but the claims have never quite lived up to the hype. Until now. Ford has been re-designing the engines that run their line of F-150 pickup trucks. Ford says their newly designed engines were built to save fuel and increase MPG ratings.
According to the WSJ, the powertrain lineup includes a 3.7-liter V6, 5-liter and 6.2-liter V8s, and a 3.5-liter V6 that uses Ford's EcoBoost twin-turbo system to increase power while cutting fuel consumption. Combined with new transmissions, the engines should increase fuel economy by 20%.
In a time when hybrid cars are getting all the attention, new truck owners can now tout their fuel efficiency as well.
